Good morning beautiful humans, greeting from Europe! Yes, you heard me right, greetings from Europe. Thank you for spending part of your morning with me although its afternoon here, lol! Welcome to Life with Lane!

Wow, I have been doing so much over the last two weeks and I haven’t put out as many blogs as I usually do. Jim and I have been so busy on our vacation in Europe. However, I am back today to share with you our experience having dinner at the Eiffel Tower.
It was such an amazing and wonderful experience. Once of a lifetime thing really, so that is why I want to share it with you. Before I start with the dinner, I want to say, to you that have never seen the Eiffel Tower in person, it is absolutely massive. I mean it is incredibly beautiful and it was just amazing. When you stand underneath it and look up, its like a dream. It stands so tall and there are so many lights. Its like if a tall candle came to life and stroke a pose, lol! Its like a tall model in all sparkling dress! I was in love.
I wore this long fancy sequined black dress with a slit on the side. Jim wore a very nice purple button-down shirt with black slacks and shiny black shoes. Not to be conceited but we looked stunning! It was cold so I wore his long wool trench coat. Although our hotel room wasn’t too far from the Eiffel Tower it took almost an hour to get there. The traffic in Paris is hideous but that deserves an entire blog, lol!

Our reservation was at 9pm, yes you heard me correctly, 9pm. We learned that the lovely folks in Europe eat late. As a matter of fact, some restaurants and cafes did not start serving dinner until after 7pm. Jim made our reservation quite awhile ago and that was the only time available. Well, let me take that back, that was the only time available to get a window seat. Our thought was, if you’re going to have a once in a lifetime dinner at the Eiffel Tower, it needs to be next to the window!
Our dinner included a glass of wine with each course and there were four courses included 2 different desserts. However, a thing we learned over there, finding semi-sweet or sweet wine is quite the challenge. Needless to say, we did not have a glass of wine with each course. Plus, we had 2 or 3 beers each at a small bar inside the Eiffel Tower before our reservation, lol! What can I say, I’m on vacation, I love beer, and we didn’t have to drive!

I can’t even tell you what the first two dishes were that we tried. I feel terrible that I can’t tell you what they were. I have included pictures so you can see what we had! I will tell you I was not a fan, but I did like the third course. It was squid ink rice. The actual ink from the squid was on our rice and it was delicious. My whole life I thought the ink was poisonous and maybe it is before you cook it. Oh well, I tried it anyway. I don’t regret it.
I wasn’t a fan of the final course, it was lamb and I do not like lamb, so they gave us a fifth course and It was superb. It was a grilled fish dish with asparagus and my mouth watered. I was very happy with that dish, I ate Jim’s fish as well, lol! Dessert was pretty good even though I’m not really a dessert person, but I had to try it.
Overall, our experience at 58 Eiffel was wonderful. I had the best company anyone could ever have. The view was gorgeous. I am so happy I got to experience having dinner at the Eiffel Tower. However, we would have been happy with steak and potatoes or a big burger, lol! Thank you for reading my blog. Follow me on Instagram @lifewithlane14 Have a wonderful blessed day and always be kind!
