My Favorite Things of 2019

Hi there friends! Happy Friday after Christmas 🎄🎄

“My favorite thing of 2019!”
Life with Lane

I had such a hard time trying to make this list because I had so many favorite things from this year. I didn’t want it to be like 8 pages long, lol!

Besides a rough patch here and there, 2019 has been one of the best years of my life thus far. Thank you God! Before I start my list, I will say the saddest thing in 2019, well in my life really, was losing my sweet Dusty in February. I miss my sweet little pup everyday. Onyx and I both do! However, I pray that I see him again some day.

Dinner inside the Eiffel Tower

I have to say that seeing the Eiffel Tower up close and personal was my favorite thing of 2019. Not only did I see it up close and personal but I also ate dinner there. The table was next to the window and the view was absolutely stunning. I felt like I was dreaming. It was surreal. I just couldn’t believe I was sitting inside the Eiffel Tower having dinner. Even more so that I was actually in Paris, France! I’ve been wanting to travel there my entire life. Dreams really do come true and I check off my bucket list.

I wanted to do a photoshoot with Onyx because he’s getting older. So, I’m trying to make as many memories as I can with him. So, this photoshoot was more than special. As you can see I was Dorothy and he’s Toto. Although Dusty is gone, I wanted to include him too. So, the stuffed schnoodle in the basket is supposed to be Dusty. It was a tribute to him. It was such a fun day. Onyx cooperated for the most part. My sister Tasha did my hair and my sister KK took the pictures. Such an amazing day.

Not only did I get to go to Switzerland, I got to go to the top of the Swiss Alps! It was soooooo cold up there and incredibly beautiful. Snow was everywhere including in that hotel. It was actually closed for the season because of all the snowfall. Again, I felt like I was dreaming. I was like this just can’t be real life. Oh, I had lunch up there. I look out of the window and see a beautiful blue sky above snow covered mountains. Insanity, lol!

I was just a black girl from Bromley Alabama, having champagne for breakfast in Paris. Say what??? Yeah, that happened and I was the happiest luckiest girl in the world. Eat the croissants in Paris they said. Man, were they right! I ate all those damn croissants 🤣. It was nuts how moist and scrumptious they were. Definitely one of best things of my 2019. I can’t wait to go back. If only for the croissants!

Aladdin and Toy Story 4

I go to the movies often but I never expected these 2 movies to be my favorites of the year. I should probably go see more movies, lol! I still have to see Uncut Gems and Little Women but since I haven’t these two take the prize! I never thought the fourth installment of a movie could be better than all the others. Toy Story 4 proved me wrong. The writing is superb. Aladdin, well all I can say is Will Smith as the Genie is everything!

Europa Park

Yes, I took that picture! Visiting Europa Park in Rust Germany was one of the best things ever! I love theme parks and this was everything. Fun fact, you’re allowed to bring your pup into this park. How cool is that? This park had like 8-10 roller coasters, water rides, shows, a movie theater, lots of food, etc! I was like a kid. I smiled the entire time I was there. Thank you God!!

I got to see The Notre Dame Cathedral the week before it burned. It was such a gorgeous piece of history. Walking inside of it felt, I don’t know how to describe it. Such a blessing.

As always, being able to spend so much time with my family! It was such a blessing being able to go home 3 times instead of one. For the 1st time in 20 years I went home for my Mother’s birthday. They came here in July and we all went to Universal Studios. Even my Mother went and she got on 2 rides. It was absolutely wonderful. We also went to lunch together, just the two of us. Family is everything!

2019 was truly a year of many blessings. God has been so good to me. I pray that he will continue to smile on me. I hope he knows that I know everything I have is because of him. I pray during good and bad times, I know what time it is 😉
